Amy and Nathan’s wedding day at Mangawhai Heads was an absolute beauty, set against one of those classic clear blue Northland days. Around 100 of their closest friends and family made the trip, many travelling up from Hamilton to celebrate with them in this stunning seaside spot. Their ceremony took place on a private reserve overlooking the iconic sand dunes and inner waterway, a pretty unreal backdrop as they said their vows and kicked off the day surrounded by good people and great energy.
We made the most of the location straight after, heading down to the surf beach at low tide for photos amongst the rocks and wide open shoreline. From there, we switched it up with a trip into the forest at Tara Iti, adding a completely different feel before finishing the day back at the beach and dunes for sunset. The light came through beautifully to wrap things up, and the whole day flowed effortlessly from start to finish, full of laughs, connection and those proper in-between moments that make it all so memorable.

Where it all slows down
Out on the Tara Iti dunes as the sun dipped behind the clouds, Amy and Nathan took a quiet moment to themselves, just pausing to take it all in. The breeze, the soft light, and that wide open landscape made it feel like time slowed right down. One of those calm, in-between moments that says everything without needing a word.
